Your safety is important to us. Please review these guidelines at the start of your stay.
Before you arrive
Pack light
Travel lighter, move easier — less luggage to manage in an emergency.
Secure your belongings
Keep luggage zipped and locked, and use the front desk safe deposit box for valuables.
Carry essentials
Photo ID, driver's license, and any required travel documents should stay on your person.
When you arrive
Locate fire exits
Check the floor plan on the back of your guest room door. Walk the route to the nearest two emergency exits before you settle in.
Alarms & extinguishers
Note the location of the nearest fire alarm pull station and extinguisher on your floor.
In-room locks
Engage the deadbolt and security latch any time you are inside the room.
Visitors
Confirm identity through the door before opening. If you are unsure who is at your door, dial 0 for the front desk.
In a fire emergency
- Stay calm. A clear head saves time.
- Pull the nearest fire alarm to alert other guests and staff.
- Turn off the air conditioner in your room to slow the spread of smoke.
- Call for help. Dial 9 + 911 from your room phone, then notify the front desk.
- Take your room key with you. Close — do not lock — your door behind you.
- Use the stairs. Never use elevators during a fire alarm. Stay low if there is smoke.
If your room fills with smoke
- Protect your breathing with a wet towel held over your nose and mouth.
- Stay low and crawl toward the door. Smoke rises — clearer air is near the floor.
- Feel the door with the back of your hand. If hot, do not open it. Seal the gaps with wet towels and signal for help.
- If the door is cool, open it slowly. Close it again immediately if you encounter smoke or heat.
- In the hallway, stay close to the wall and count doors to the nearest stairwell.
- If you cannot exit safely, return to your room, seal the door, and call for help.
